I had the pleasure of photographing many great dancers at Worlds 2025 in Dublin – but Scarlett Dolan is particularly memorable. So much energy, expression and joy on stage – and at such a young age. She is not only the little sister of Amy Mae Dolanbut clearly a strong personality in her own rightwho is going her very own way.
💪 Despite the cold – Scarlett simply gave it her all
We had a little shoot right after their competition – and it was cold. Really cold. But Scarlett? Not a trace of complaining. She was full of motivation, open, warm and simply one of those dancers where you can tell: There’s something burning.
And although she is still so young, she has already a medal at the Worlds – what an achievement!
📸 My view through the camera
For me as a photographer, the best thing is when I get to capture more than just beautiful jumps. I want to capture real moments – and Scarlett gave me exactly that. Her lightness, her strength, her loving nature. Every picture tells a story – her story.
🔮 Wherever their journey takes them – I’m looking forward to it
I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from Scarlett. Whether at future Feiseanna, the next Worlds or perhaps at some point on a big show stage – she has everything it takes. And I’m very grateful that I’ve already had the opportunity to photograph her.
