Kindergarten & school photography in Austria
Real memories with heart – natural, child-friendly & stress-free
I’m Cathrin – a passionate kindergarten and school photographer – and my aim is to create images that really stick. No posed studio shots, but real moments full of personality, joy and individuality. Every child is my focus – without any pressure or mass processing.
Photos that show children as they are
I take enough time for each child. The children are allowed to laugh, be shy, romp around or simply observe quietly. That’s what makes the pictures special – because they are real. I take photos sensitively and with a lot of patience – without any “please smile”.
Indoor or outdoor – depending on the facility and weather
Depending on the conditions on location, I take photos outside in the garden or play area – or in a lovingly prepared indoor set. It is important that the children feel safe and comfortable. Then authentic pictures are created – full of lightness.
More than just individual portraits
In addition to classic individual portraits, I also offer:
– Loving sibling photos
– spontaneous friendship pictures (can also be repeated on request)
– Modern group photos as a high-quality collage
All parents receive individual online gallery access – with no obligation to buy. They can choose their favorite pictures at their leisure and order them digitally or as high-quality prints.
What is important to me
I don’t see kindergarten photography as a compulsory appointment – but as an opportunity to create precious memories. Memories of a special time that passes far too quickly. My pictures should touch – not just please.
My way
I used to be skeptical about classic kindergarten photography. Everything seemed too posed, too fast, too impersonal. But a workshop in Germany inspired me – and showed me how much potential there is in real, modern photography. Since then, I have developed my own concept – with a lot of heart, time and an open eye for what makes children tick.

Tips for children
I’ve put together a few simple tips for you to make the photo shoot in kindergarten a relaxed experience.
Bring clothes & a spare: A small mishap can happen quickly – so pack a spare set of clothes and a few wet wipes in your rucksack. Better safe than sorry!
On the way to kindergarten: If you want, you can put a loose shirt or jacket over your child’s photo outfit – this will keep everything clean. Alternatively, you can have the clothes changed directly at the kindergarten – just let the teachers know and allow enough time.
Comfortable clothes that your child likes to wear: Clothes that pinch or “feel funny” quickly make children feel uncomfortable – and unfortunately you can often see this in the pictures. It’s best to give your child 2-3 outfits to choose from (ones that you are happy with, of course). That way, they feel self-determined – which helps them feel comfortable.
No flashy logos or cartoon characters, please: T-shirts with large prints, Disney characters or glittering slogans often distract from the face – and quickly look overloaded or “out of date” in pictures later on. Simple and timeless is often the better choice.
Little helpers are allowed: If your child has a favorite cuddly toy, a small book or another “comforter”, they are of course welcome to join you. Sometimes it helps to hold on to it – or we can simply include it lovingly in the photo.
